Year 5 Medieval Day

On Monday 16th December, Year 5 went back in time to the medieval period. They came dressed up in costumes ready to take part in a range of activities. We spend the morning baking food for our feast. These included: pottage, surprising the children loved this; ginger bread cookies and melted chocolate. They also had a go at creating their own decorations for the table. We then sat and had our feast. King Luke had to eat first and approve the food, then the children tucked right in. We had many full tummies and lots of empty plates (including an empty pottage bowl). The afternoon we did some reenactments of sword fighting and created a 2 large tapestries! The children had a wonderful time.
